I don't think that Jace is a wannabe Will, although they are very similar. Who knows, maybe their personality just runs in the Herondale family

I'm going for Jem, absolutely Jem... I think he's a wonderful character, deep and strong. He's kind, empathic and at the same tame a great warrior, he faces his own demons with a stoic attitude, I shall say... he's a good example. The right man for Tessa. William is also a very good built character, but he's too upset, and upsetting.

I voted for Jem, and I've been rooting for him all along- although I think Will is probably a more natural match for Tessa. But great love is not just limited to the person you have a strong, quick connection with; it can grow to be powerful and sustaining in more unexpected places.
I realize that part of the reason I root for Jem is that I feel he should have some happiness, since he's mortally ill already and Will gets all the girls (except Sophie) practically on sight- though I hate to pity a character who wouldn't want you to pity him, and who knows how old Will will live to be? I also feel compelled to say that I'm the first person to post on this thread who has read Clockwork Prince (unless someone had an advance copy). My feelings about both boys remain much the same, except that my inner turmoil on the subject has increased. Both Will and Jem are deeply charming, attractive characters, virtually impossible to choose between, and either one could probably make Tessa very happy. Sexual feelings aside, Will loves literature as much as Tessa and knows how to make her laugh instinctively; Jem is kind, considerate, and deeply in touch with beauty. Both boys are, I think, very passionate- Will loudly so, Jem much more quietly. Still waters run deep, but I still like waterfalls and ocean breakers too.
If I had the option to spend an evening with these two guys, I'd find both of them a major temptation. I adore Will because I relate to him the most, but Jem's goodness and devotion to those he loves are stellar characteristics. How Tessa deals with the love of these two boys is not, of course, going to be exactly the same as we fans may expect, as her situation is complicated by her warlock status and the mores of her time. I have no quarrel with the decision she made in Prince and, for the sake of avoiding spoilery, I shall stop there.
But my hat goes off to Cassandra Clare for creating two such sexy, loveable gentlemen- or, at least, one gentleman and a gentleman rogue.

I love them both individually. But for Tessa I say Will. I think Tessa is in love with both of them, however I think she is going to be more in love with and drawn to Will.
