Seventeen-year-old Will is the sort of young man nice Victorian girls were warned against. He drinks, gambles, and enjoys the company of ladies of questionable virtue—at least, as much as he enjoys anything. Will hates everyone and everything, with the possible exception of Jem, and even that's in some doubt. Charlotte despairs of keeping him alive past the age of nineteen. When he finds himself oddly drawn to Tessa, his friends begin to hope that the Downworlder girl will prove Will's unlikely salvation—but as Tessa grows closer to the bleak secret that makes his life a prison, danger threatens to destroy them both if she ever finds out the truth.

Ah, William. What thoughts can I offer on this mysterious, dark and brooding character? I love his humour, his wittiness, even if it may be overly sarcastic, it only adds to him. I am so intrigued by his secret, I can't remember how many times I had a fit when he it seemed he was finally going to open up to Tessa, and then, BAM, he just shuts off. But I think it's this constant conflict within himself that has me hooked. He's troubled, but he doesn't show it, or rather, not purposely. It makes him a very dynamic and entertaining charater. I loved the cliffhanger at the end of Clockwork Angel, though I'm not going to go into details because of spoilers. Anyway, I am in love with Will Herondale. My favourite out of all of Cassie's characters, (possible exception made for Magnus, he is a BAMF).

I love Will, I really do. I understand he isnt the nicest of guys but at the same time it seems like its just something he's putting on. What I love about Will is his darker sense of humour. It sort of reminds me of Jace's sense of humour but its a bit more sarcastic. My favourite Will quote is:
"Are you impling that the shreds of my reputation remain intact?" "Clearly I have been doing something wrong. Or not doing something wrong, as the case may be." "Thomas! We must away at once to the nearest brothel! I seek scandal and low companionship!"
